Hideo Kojima - Conclusion of Metal Gear Series, New Projects, etc - Image 1Hideo Kojima spoke with the guys of MeriStation recently, and spoke of his thoughts about Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, his plans for the future, and which actual Metal Gear mech he would want to see built in real life among other things.

A lot of Kojima fans out there may be feeling down knowing that this is his last Metal Gear video game project. However, that doesn’t mean he’ll disappear entirely of course.

Kojima relates that video games are still his priority and that he will continue to make them in the future. Perhaps the next installment of Zone of the Enders? He also restated his intention of getting in the books business, as well as making movies. Now that would be something.

As for his thoughts on MGS4, he also mentioned again his earlier remark that he wasn’t satisfied with the game in terms of content. Although the Blu-ray disc can contain massive amounts of data, Kojima said that he would have added a lot more content if he could.

He goes on to say that his final Metal Gear was mainly for the fans who have stayed with the series all these years; from the original game on the MSX2, and even up to the handheld Portable Ops on the PSP. The upcoming PS3 exclusive serves as a “gesture of appreciation for their loyalty.”

Now, in case you were wondering which Metal Gear mecha Kojima would like to see built in real life, wonder no more: it’s the Metal Gear Rex. He also wants to use it to destroy “a few buildings in [the] Roppongi” district in Japan. Cool beans, go Kojima!
