Hitachi Xtreme Firmware Will Be Out In 48 Hours
It has been 19 days since Commodore4Eva announced that a Hitachi 47DH DVD firmware hack for the Xbox 360 is coming. Today he gives word that the firmware is 99% complete, a great feat considering that the generous man has been spending just one hour every night on the project and that he’s been away for the past three days. Commodore4Eva just needs to do one more routine test to get the firmware rolling, which will be in about two days time.
Here are the updates straight from Commodore4Eva himself: “[After doing the routine test] I will then port the 47 code over to the 46 version…. It will not require a full firmware update, only a few banks. You will not be required to save/inject your drive key but saving a copy is always best. The checksum will be set to zero for the firmware. Since I dont have a 46 drive you people will have to test and report. I will then look at the 59 version firmware…. Assembling with a hex editor is not fun but it gets the job done.”
