Hopelessly Disorganized? Download the New DSOrganize v2.1 Now.

dsorganizeDSOrganize is a homebrew organizer application for the Nintendo DS. DragonMinded thinks it should be a built-in application but since it’s not, he went ahead and built one. While he says it doesn’t match a full-fledged organizer like the PDA, it does a pretty good job of turning the DS into a calendar, address book, day planner and a scientific calculator.

This application also has file browser and multi-language support. While he took out the hand-recognition support, we still think its a pretty nifty homebrew! Besides how many DS games can you play on a PDA?

Before we go to what’s new in DSOrganize v2.1, DragonMinded wants to thank the dedicated members in the homebrew community for their help in making DSOrganize. And one more thing, please only use the executable type for your particular card, and be sure to unzip the entire directory structure to your card properly. If you don’t, certain pages will not save properly. You don’t want that, do you?

Anyways the fixes and new features found in DSOrganize v2.1 are:

  • Fixed wav playback bug!
  • Fixed crash bug relating to extremely long file extensions (thanks BackBon3)
  • Fixed issue with saving bookmarks.
  • Fixed some issues with shoutcast playlists and streams.
  • Fixed a weird issue with renaming.
  • Changed vCard parsing, should be far more compatible with vCard files now, especially vCard 3.0.
  • Changed calendar/day planner written dates to reflect DD/MM/YYYY setting
  • Changed bookmarks to auto delete oldest one when you add more than the maximum.
  • Added default homebrew save path. Edit the ini file for this option.
  • Added .cfg as a text type.
  • Added sort by date option on the homebrew database.
  • Added messagease keyboard style.
  • Added support for 8bit wav playback.
  • Added simple proxy support. See the ini for details.
  • Added support for loading many more tracker formats, and mp2.
  • Added wav file recorder for voice memos.
  • Recoded keyboard from scratch, making it bigger, and fixing the shift bug.
  • Took out crappy handwriting recognition.
  • Improved keyboard speed by a bit, hopefully making typing easier.

If you want more details on how to use the different features, you can go here.
