I4U names Wii as Gadget of the Year 2006

Not that Nintendo’s Wii needs more good publicity but I4U News just named it 2006’s Gadget of the Year. How did the Wii end up in such an enviable place? According to the I4U team, their Wii coverage generated the most number of visits. The team also considered the number of positive response to the next-gen console and its certainly not lacking in that department. 

The Wii’s successful global launch was another reason why the I4U team picked it as this year’s hottest gadget. Although far from being silky smooth, Wii’s launch was better than the PS3 and the Xbox 360’s debut.

According to I4U, “Leah and her Wii” got the most page views out of all I4U gadget models (except the PS3 which will be posted next month). That’s one more reason why Wii got the top spot. Wait, was it the console or Leah (the model) that brought in the oglers? I4U didn’t say.
