Inferno DS - Image 1Those who want to experiment with homebrewed operating systems on the Nintendo DS may want to check out Inferno DS, a port of the Inferno Operating System. To those who aren’t familiar with the OS, Inferno is a system that focuses primarily on the support of distributed services, with its applications written in the Limbo programming language.

Inferno DS, however, is built with the focus on using the DS’s different hardware capabilities in mind, such as the touchscreen and Wi-Fi among others to come up with new and innovative applications. So far, the team behind the Inferno DS project (comprised of noah.evans, saoret.one, caerwynj, and mech…@ueber.net) has several cool ideas for programs in mind, such as VoIP, programs for accessing media, and more.
