In-game advertising company targets social gamers
Independent in-game advertising company IGA Worldwide signed an agreement with Acclaim Games to provide advertisements for six massively multi-player online games including9 Dragon, 2Moons, BOTS!!, DANCE! plus two unannounced titles.
The agreement allows IGA Worldwide to extend its reach to the social gamer. Social games include online multiplayer, action, adventure, or role-playing games.
The in-game advertising company says there is an enormous potential for social gaming as access to broadband continues to increase. Acclaim’s BOTS!! already has almost 500,000 registered users from North America and Europe since its launch in July 2006. In-game advertising revenues will also benefit publishers of free to play online social games. In short, MMO games is evolving into something like free TV.
