Insomniac not done making new IPs, co-op to play significant role in future titles
If for some strange reason you thought Resistance was the last new Insomniac IP, better think again. In the words of senior community manager James Stevenson, that “would be a silly thought.” Indeed.
If for some strange reason you thought Resistance was the last new Insomniac IP, better think again. In the words of senior community manager James Stevenson, that “would be a silly thought.” Indeed.
“We don’t really want to talk about anything outside of A Crack In Time, but what I will say in general is that, if you think that Resistance is going to be the last new IP from Insomniac obviously that would be a silly thought,” said Stevenson in an interview with GamerZines.
“At some point in the future there will be new IPs, but when, where, why, how, you know, who knows?” he added.
Stevenson also cracked open a hint at what fans can expect in future Insomniac releases: a growing emphasis on co-op. They may be skipping that path in Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack In Time, but the positive response to Resistance 2‘s co-op feature has left a mark in their minds.
“If you look at Resistance 2,” Stevenson said, “our co-op numbers were higher than our competitive numbers. It’s definitely a growing sector of the industry and regardless of what games Insomniac make in the future – because we will make many more games and I’m not going to talk about what they’ll be – I think co-op is something that we will recognize the growing importance of.”
So, Resistance 3 co-op confirmed?
