As 08-08-08 drums ever so near, it's not very surprising to find some Olympics themed video games in the works. Publisher Ghostlight has just released a batch of screenshots for one such title, International Athletics. It's slated for release on both the PlayStation Portable and Nintendo DS handhelds. With the Olympics looming ever so near, we shouldn't be surprised if a flurry of the Olympics related games come along in the (very) near future. That said, here's one of them now: International Athletics from publisher Ghostlight. We've got screenshots for the PlayStation Portable version (it will be coming to the Nintendo DS as well) of the "realistic athletics" sim.
Some of you might remember Ghostlight's announcement last year about a video game for the handhelds called Decathletes, and well, we're not exactly sure if this is the same thing but it does sound like it. Anyway, judging from the screenshots, International Athletics will be featuring several events and unlockable content like stadiums and items. Events include the following:

- Javelin Throw
- Discus Throw
- Shot Put
- Long Jump
- Pole Vault
- 110m Hurdles
- 100m
- 400m
- 1500m
- Rifle Shooting
- High Jump
