Irem reveals details, screenshots of Irem Plaza Home lounge
Irem is doing a Namco Bandai with their own PlayStation Home lounge, Irem Plaza. Instead of focusing on just one particular game, they’re turning it into more of a general showcase area dressed up in Japanese festival garb. Catch details and screenshots of the lounge after the jump.
Japanese publisher Irem has revealed a few details about their new PlayStation Home lounge. The Irem lounge, called Irem Plaza, sports a Japanese-style festival design complete with booths and activities commonly seen in Japanese festivals such as shooting games and fireworks displays. There will be four areas available initially:
- Observation Deck – Allows visitors to look out onto the beach and see fireworks and the setting sun
- Message Board – Details lounge events and information about new stalls
- Night Stalls – Players can play mini games and purchase items here
- Yagura (Watch Tower) – This is the central area of the lounge where players will gather
The lounge also offers traditional yutaka festival clothing so visitors can really get into the festival spirit. Items include furniture based on R-9 figures from the R-Type series. If there’s an R-9 bed then count me in.
Irem’s upcoming downloadable PS3 title Minna de Spelunker will also be coming to Home in the form of a special game lounge. Irem Plaza is expected to launch in the Japanese version of Home sometime in the next couple of weeks.
