Is Nintendo of America relocating?

Nintendo of America - Image 1Nintendo of America may be relocating out of Seattle and moving into either San Francisco or New York, sources disclosed to GameInformer as Billy Berghammer reports.

It seems that the employees of NoA were asked if they were willing to either relocate or to accept a severance package – a tough decision, and one that has to be made before or on June 1. The sources also revealed that the new offices would be opened as soon as fall.

It’s something to note that this move affects quite a lot of departments under Nintendo of America’s Redmond offices, some of which are the localization and customer service departments, as well as Nintendo Power and a manufacturing plant of their own. With the Redmond branch one of Nintendo’s bigger branch offices, it’s hard to imagine just how massive – and potentially disruptive – the impact from this move would be.

To try and bring light the gravity of the situation, GameInformer has already contacted Nintendo of America, and is yet to receive a response. As always, we’ll be here to update you as developments happen.
