Here's a bit of news we don't read about everyday, and it's about the removal of an Islamic phrase found in the upcoming Wii platformer from Capcom, Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbados' Treasure. We get you all the details of this little mishap that was fortunately resolved easily and quickly.

It seems the common Islam prayer, "Allahu ackbar," found its way in the game - with many parties lodging complaints to Capcom for its inclusion in the cartoony puzzle adventure of treasure-hunting. One of these parties, the Council of American-Islam Relations (CAIR), also notified Capcom of the inclusion.

The legendary game company immediately got to work in contacting the team responsible for the game's production, and surely enough, action is now being taken to make sure the phrase is indeed removed.

CAIR, of course, was pleased with Capcom's timely response in the whole issue. CAIR Communications Coordinator Amina Rubin's statement, verbatim:

We appreciated Capcom's willingness to address Muslim concerns and applaud the company's swift and appropriate actions.

Certainly good news that it's being taken care of during production. Hopefully, this means no delays or release date pushbacks in store for the highly-anticipated title. Updates as we get them!
