It’s happened! WoW user-base has stopped growing
Could it be? Has World of Warcraft reached its peak? Mike Morhaime of Blizzard has revealed that the biggest MMO to ever happen has been static at 11.5 million users — all the way since late 2008.

Morhaime, however, remains optimistic that there will still be room for more growth, especially considering that they are expecting a couple more factors to boost their numbers in terms of users base.
For one, the China situation is still pretty much a situation, what with almost 50% of Chinese gamers not having access to Wrath of the Lich King. The government sure hasn’t been making things easy for them, but their keeping their fingers tightly crossed (on top of all the legal action their taking) to make sure that their operation finally goes smoothly.
Apart from that, there’s also the new expansion, Cataclysm, to look out for. They’re expecting its release to bring in some more gamers into the fray.
Morhaime made the announcement at their full-year financial call.
