Iwata Discusses WiFi and Virtual Console
For those wondering about how the Nintendo WiFi Connection will work with the Wii, Satoru Iwata had a few details in an interview with Electronics Gaming Monthly. It will “evolve” from the model that they have in place with the DS. What that means exactly is not known, but he seems to be very excited about WiiConnect24. Iwata also mentioned servers. Whether or not he meant that users would be able to create their own servers, like hosting a game of Counter-Strike with Steam, or not remains to be seen.
With Virtual Console, Nintendo is thinking of making games run at a higher resolution. However, games won’t have new artwork or more colours. The resolution should make the gaems sharper though.
Not only that, it looks like Iwata really is human. He plays games regularly, but it’s been mostly DS for him. He likes being able to pick up a game and put it down quickly because he’s such a busy man. He has no idea what to do when Zelda: Twilight Princess comes out though… Nintendo Company Holiday?
