Iwata: Nintendo may beat forecast
You may remember that way back in October, Nintendo raised its shipment forecast for the DS by 3 million units, predicting that 20 million units will be shipped by March 2007.
Well, we’ve got more good news for you Ninty fans out there.
Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has recently stated that the company could exceed its own earnings target for the current fiscal year following strong sales of the DS and the Wii. Games Industry reports that Iwata has said that the handheld could well top the figure they gave last October. He adds that the success of the Wii has had little effect on the DS in terms of cannibalizing sales.
Nice to hear that the DS is doing well on its own and that it doesn’t have to rely on it’s ever so slightly bigger brother.
