Jam Sessions DS: Guitar Hero in your pocket

like Guitar Hero...but not quite - Image 1Ubisoft has just given word that they’re going to release a game similar to Guitar Hero on the DS, which they’re calling Jam Sessions. But although Jam Sessions involves playing the guitar, the game will be different from the Japanese Cult Hit guitar game.

The game will have performance, free play and tutorial modes. Unlike Guitar Hero, which sets the tempo at which the player plays the notes over already-provided backing instruments, Jam Sessions displays only the lyrics and the notes, with no timing whatsoever.

Musically savvy gamers will probably find Jam Sessions fun, because it lets you play pieces in the tempo that you want. For those who don’t really have any musical background, though, the game might still prove to be quite educational.
