James Bond Leaves EA for Activision

That’s right. No longer will EA be creating the titles featuring James Bond. That job rests with Activision. Today, MGM Interactive Inc. and EON Productions Inc. gave a press release that Activision now holds the video game rights to James Bond. Whether or not the change in companies will produce better quality in gameplay remains to be seen. The game most fondly remembered in the franchise is still GoldenEye 007 developed by Rare and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64. It’s actually quite surprising that Microsoft didn’t try to get the rights for this. Does anyone else think that the best course of action would be for Free Radical (developers of TimeSplitters containing most of the GoldenEye and Perfect Dark staff) to develop the series and have Activision publish it?
