Insomniac Games' Resistance 2 PS3 - Image 1James Stevenson, the Community Relations Manager for Insomniac Games, recently posted a few Resistance 2 updates on the PlayStation blog. He also took the time to answer a few questions posted by the community in the comments section of the article.

The biggest news he let slip is that the developers are now playtesting 60 player multiplayer and eight player co-op on a regular basis. In addition, they are now tweaking the single player session. This pretty much means that the game is rapidly taking shape.

A post from one of the commenters asked for more details on the playtesting of the 60 player multiplayer mode as well as voice chat in Resistance 2 – details which Stevenson was more than happy to provide to the community:

Oh yeah, weÂ’re playing 60-player MP every day, and I play in our three-scheduled playtests every week and give feedback. And weÂ’re starting to get some more internal Sony people playing to help us test our brand new online servers. As far as voice chat, the game divides you into squads, which helps manage the 60-player battles

Sadly, Stevenson said that they still aren’t ready to let slip all the new stuff they plan on adding to the game. However, he did refer gamers to a teaser trailer (which we covered in a previous post) that gives out a few interesting details on the game’s storyline.

That said, you might be interested in checking out the posts for yourself. If that’s the case, follow our source link below to get there.
