Although all the platforms experienced a drop in sales from the week before last, the PSP continues to show strength over the others. Last week, it sold more units Japan than the PS3, DS, Wii, and Xbox 360 combined yet again. On the other hand, the PS3’s figures dropped to a new low.

It seems that the sleek handheld from Sony is a big hit in Japan. As for the PS3, maybe we can expect sales to pick up in the coming weeks, owing to its strong lineup during the holidays. We can check back on the numbers next week once Media Create releases its weekly hardware sales chart.
