Japan: PlayStation 3 beats Wii sales for whole of November
The week of November 25 may have been claimed by the Wii in Japan but according to Enterbrain, the sales during the four weeks leading up to that date is claimed by the PlayStation 3. The week of November 25 may have been claimed by the Wii in Japan but according to Enterbrain, the sales during the four weeks leading up to that date is claimed by the PlayStation 3, with three consecutive weeks toppling the Wii from the top spot.
According to Enterbrain, the PlayStation 3 sold 183,217 units in Japan during those four weeks, while the Nintendo Wii sold only 159,193 units. The sales numbers for November 25 may have already been indicative of this as the PS3 sold only 4,000 units below the Wii.
Considering that the PS3 has beaten the Wii consistently during the whole month, this probably isn’t surprising for the lot of you. It would be interesting to see how the hardware race will develop over the holiday season.
