Japanese market remains cold to Xbox 360
So, now that the PS3 and the Wii have finally and officially joined the next-gen stables, what’s up with headstarter Microsoft‘s Xbox 360? Reportedly, it remains to be making viable sales in North America, Australia and the UK. But as for Japan? Well, it doesn’t seem to be appealing.
According to Famitsu‘s Marketing data survey, Microsoft sold about 113,000 Xbox 360 units, with Sony’s PS2 selling 1.4 million units. And when the PS3 came, let’s just say that it was able to stomp the Xbox 360 yearly sales in just a matter of weeks. But be that as it may, Microsoft is looking forward to a more prosperous new year, with the release of Mistwalker Studio’s Blue Dragon, which has caused quite a stir for the Xbox 360 in Japan.
And besides, it did win out over Nintendo’s now-seemingly retro GameCube, which sold only under 100,000 units.
