Bungie: hoping to knock COD4 off top spot, talks user-created content - Image 1In an interview, Bungie Studio’s Brian Jarrard spoke about how they are hoping to knock Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare off from the XBL Activity charts and how they have been developing the gameplay of Halo 3 through the handling of user-created content. Bungie: hoping to knock COD4 off top spot, talks user-created content - Image 1In his interview, Bungie Corporation’s community lead, Brian Jarrard talked about how they are hoping to reclaim their top spot in the XBL Activity Charts with Halo  3 against Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (PC, Xbox 360, PS3), and how they are dealing with the user-created content.

Jarrard said that they have a lot of new content coming to the game because they simply don’t want to walk away from Halo 3.  He also noted that the changes that will be made in the playlists will help maintain variety and incentives for players to keep coming back for more.

He added that with their efforts in continuously developing the game, their game is expected to evolve with a strong, foreseeable future. With this, he expects to have back-and-forth battle with COD4 for awhile in the top spot for Major Nelson‘s Xbox Live activity charts.

As for the user-created content, Jarrard said that they acknowledged that problems facing it since there’s just too much content. They are currently utilizing ways to potentially grade and sort the content that they have. With their efforts in maintaining this, Jarrard said it “is important for the feature to really get a foothold and contribute to Halo 3‘s lifespan.”
