Joytech Power Station details: dock and Wiimote battery covers
When we unveiled Joytech‘s Wiimote accessory lineup last month, some of you guys were wondering about the Wii Power Station, particularly its batt-recharging abilities (something sorely needed on the Wiimote). Well, you’ll be glad to know that VideoGamesBlogger has got a close look at the Power Station, close enough to get package details and price.
As readers in the last article suspected, the Power Station comes with two (read that, TWO) rechargeable battery packs for the two Wiimotes that can dock with the Station. Now, Nintendo hasn’t exactly revealed any plans for “official” rechargeability of the Wiimote, which probably explains another feature of the Power Station. Look closely and you’ll see that the contact points for the recharger mate with those couple of holes on the battery cover. We’re presuming that the batt covers come with the package (unless you want to punch holes in yours…).
Again going by looks, the VideoGamesBlogger is presuming that the Station runs off a USB power source – but don’t quote him on that, he says. That’s based on the USB cable sticking out the back of the dock. Fair assumption, but again nothing official from Joytech, so no promises on that department. Finally, a release date. January 26, 2007, for US$ 39.00, £ 19.97, or € 30.00.
