Reports are circulating that Eidos has recently filed a trademark for a sequel to 2007’s co-op third-person shooter, Kane & Lynch: Dead Men (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC).

The sequel is listed in the US Patent and Trademark Office website as Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days. It’s not exactly a big surprise since Eidos has been pretty up-front about their plans for a second game even before the original was released. Let’s hope they’ve fixed the oft-criticized controls this time.

Eidos has so far declined to reveal anything official about the game, although Eidos president Ian Livingstone mentioned in an interview in May that they’re shooting for a September 2009 release.
