Why the ZR1, you ask? Gran Turismo series creator Kazunori Yamauchi says that aside from the fact that GM cars helped shape his love for cars as a child, it’s to show support for hard-pressed North American automakers.
With all the automotive industry in the world at a crisis, I know that North American automakers are especially in a very difficult situation, and I understand the background and the reasons behind this.
And I can easily envision these things affecting our works as well. After all, as you well know, the game Gran Turismo is a video game that grew thanks to the insight and vision of the automotive industry, and in effect nurtured by its kindness, in its very womb.
And thatÂ’s why I wanted us to make something that could cheer up those in the industry.
Yamauchi also hinted at something found towards the end of Gran Turismo that ties in with the game’s cover art. I don’t know much about cars so the only thing I can think of is an unlockable special ZR1. What do you guys think?
