Keita Takahashi, Katamari Damacy Creator, Doesn’t Believe in the Revolution Controller
Game Developer magazine recently had an interview with Keita Takahashi, creator of Katamari Damacy. When asked about the Revolution controller, he expressed very little interest in it and said something that goes against what every other developer has said about it so far. These three comments were made and they might give you a better idea on where he stands.
“I’m not really interested in it. I don’t think a controller should have that much influence on the enjoyment of games.”
“I see what [Nintendo is] trying to do, but they’re putting such emphasis on the controller; ‘Woah, this controller lets you do this!’ and I’m thinking – are you messing with us?”
“So, there’s nothing I really want to do with it right now.”
Those who were hoping for a revolutionary addition to the Katamari series should put their hopes to rest. It doesn’t look like this man will be developing for the Revolution anytime soon.
