As impressive-looking as Killzone 2 already is, the final game may prove to be even better. The August issue of EGM has a 12-page feature on the game, and one of the big points is that Killzone 2 is already using four and a half of the Cell’s six available SPEs. More in the full article.
We’ve picked up word that the August issue of EGM has more information specifically designed to further whet the appetites of gamers eagerly waiting for Killzone 2.
Perhaps the biggest news to come out of the magazine’s special Killzone 2 feature is that the game will utilize four and a half of the Cell’s six available SPEs. For one, this should make the game’s already great-looking physics even better. AI should also prove to be impressive.
Over on the graphics side of things, Sony fans may even recognize a few tricks from titles such as Resistance: Fall of Man. According to Guerrilla Games technical director Michiel van der Leeuw,
Sony basically has an international forum for sharing character technology, animation tools and graphics shaders. WeÂ’ve even taken a few tricks directly from the Resistance guys at Insomniac, and weÂ’ve even been talking directly to the God of War guys in Santa Monica.
All in all, it certainly looks like Killzone 2 will be one hell of a gaming experience once it hits stores. That happens in roughly eight months, so you still have plenty of time to save up. Sony will also be bringing Killzone 2 to E3, so keep checking back here for more news.
