Ignition Entertainment has announced today that The King of Fighters XII is still on track for a 2009 release, a release window they stuck with since they announced the game late last year. Sweetness.

Like Street Fighter HD, King of Fighters XII is going to get a major facelift for its transition into HD. Everything from sprites to backgrounds will all be drawn by hand. Here’s a recent trailer in case you missed it:
