Kingdom Hearts 3DS is not a port, it’s a brand new game

When the Nintendo 3DS lineup was announced, a Kingdom Hearts 3DS was listed under the Square Enix banner. Though it was easy to think that it would count itself among the ports and remakes on that list, Tetsuya Nomura clarified that this particular KH won’t be one of them.
“Right now we can’t say much about it,” he told Siliconera. “All I can say is that the Kingdom Hearts for 3DS will not be a port, but a new game. “It will probably be developed by the team who was in charge of Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep, the Osaka team.”
Back in April, Nomura himself mentioned that he’s got “several” Kingdom Hearts games in the pipeline – some under development and some still in the planning stages, this would be one of them.
Kingdom Hearts 3DS will be developed by Square Enix, unlike Re: Coded and 358/2 Days which were developed by h.a.n.d.
