Hints on game modes are also here. Head to the detailed version to learn more.

Birth By Sleep - Image 1After Square Enix took center stage in Jump Festa this year, many were left buzzing about the three portable incarnations of the Kingdom Hearts franchise.

Of the three, Kingdom Hearts :358/2 Days for the Nintendo DS had the most light shed into it. That’s not to say, however, that Kingdom Hearts: Coded and Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep had no revelations to their names.

Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days will apparently be released in Summer of 2008 if the indications in Jump Festa are correct. Roxas seems to have the ability to travel through worlds. Familiar Disney and Square Enix faces will also be in store, as expected.

An interesting sight in the Jump Festa showing of Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days was that of Axel and Roxas being assisted by a mysterious new character. Unfortunately, the identity is still puzzling until now.

In the multiplayer mode, furthermore, four players can choose between Roxas, Axel, Xigbar and Saix. All of whom are depicted sitting while you choose who should play as who. In any case, these are the worlds available in Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days:

  • Agrabah
  • Wonderland
  • Twilight Town
  • Olympus Coliseum
  • The World That Never Was

Meanwhile, Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep for the Sony PSP has some confirmations about who will be playable characters: players will take on the roles of  Terra and Ven. In the demo, Mickey, Donald, and Goofy were also shown.

Settings will likely include Agrabah, the Cinderella world, the Sleeping Beauty world, and Maleficent. As for Kingdom Hearts: Coded, the most important detail is that this one should be out for the FOMA phones.

The revelation of a “high speed mode” was also opened, though not a lot of details on the mechanics. We’ll keep you posted for more Kingdom Hearts details as news comes. Right now, take a moment to enjoy Christmas with the people and stuff dear to you. Enjoy!
