Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom new info from Blueside
Blueside game director Henry Lee took some time off from video game developing and answered some interesting questions for fans of the upcoming Xbox 360 RPG Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom. This fourth installment to the successful series has been under development for some time now but it’s only recently that game details are becoming clearer.
Before we give you all the information revealed, we’re rather excited to know that this early, Blueside is already planning to dish out modifications to Circle of Doom. Henry Lee noted that they will dish out in-game “adornments” (read: Downloadable Content“>downloadable content) to coincide with the launch to make players’ characters unique and stylish even during co-op game modes.
Henry Lee also shared that a demo for Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom will be released on Xbox Live when the final details have been furnished. With all those said, here are the other stuff revealed by the game director:
- It will take an average of 40 to 50 hours to get through the single-player version with all characters, and about 100 hours to experience everything the game has to offer including completion of all quests to gain new abilities.
- Another thing to consider is that there are three difficulty modes in KUF: CoD, Normal, Hard, and Nightmare. Each will require critical uses of Enhancements and Abilities with strategic acumen.
- Each character has 5 to 6 categories of weapons and six sets of armor that change the characters visually when equipped.
- It will run at 30 FPS.
- Other than the four characters already revealed, there will be two additional playable characters. These soon to be revealed characters will require a radically different approach to game play.

- The “fully destructible” background environments are a new element that we are excited about.
- Another cool addition will be the appearance of monsters that crawl/pop out of walls and ceilings.
- It’s an “in-house” engine. It’s officially called the Blueside Engine, but people usually call it the BS Engine, pun intended (or not).
- In KUF: CoD, the story helps progress the game forward, but is not the main focal point of the game. We wanted to focus on the development of equipment and characters, hardened through battling hordes of enemies, so the story is comparatively “light”.
- We usually capture the screenshots directly from the Xbox dev-kit to the PC, and for some reason they look a bit different from what you would see via a TV screen. You shouldnÂ’t see jaggies on your TV but if you do, please ignore them.
- There will be an Enhancement called Growth that players can attach to weapons for combo attacks. When you hit enemies with a Growth weapon, combos will be shown on the right side of the screen.
- Each character uses different weapons and abilities. So while we can’t say every attack and power of each character is 100% unique, we can tell you that each character is vastly different.
- There’s nothing planned concerning platforming elements.
- There will be 32 Achievements in total.
- Only one player per console will be able to play in multiplayer mode.
