Koji Igarashi still at Konami, next project may show up at TGS 09

Koji Igarashi - Image 1Koji “IGA” Igarashi has been involved with Konami‘s Castlevania franchise since for a dozen years now. I was personally surprised that the man considered to be a Castlevania icon wasn’t anywhere near the E3 stage when Konami announced Lords of Shadow (PS3, Xbox 360), but it appears that we may be hearing more from him in a few months’ time.

Koji “IGA” Igarashi has been involved with Konami‘s Castlevania franchise since for a dozen years now. I was personally surprised that the man considered to be a Castlevania icon wasn’t anywhere near the E3 stage when Konami announced Lords of Shadow (PS3, Xbox 360), but it appears that we may be hearing more from him in a few months’ time.

Kotaku reports that according to Konami spokesman Jay Boor, IGA is “still at Konami, and he is still working on projects.” As to what these “projects” are, well, Boor says we’ll have to wait until the Tokyo Game Show to find out. This year’s TGS is scheduled for late September.

The last Castlevania project IGA was involved with was the much-derided 3D Wii title Castlevania Judgment. Maybe his next game would be a return to 2D after all the criticism that Judgment received.
