Koji Kondo Confirmed for PLAY! Concert Premiere
It is now official that Koji Kondo, composer for Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda, will be in attendance at the premiere of PLAY! A Video Game Symphony. The concert will happen in Chicago at the Rosemont Theatre on May 27th, 2006. It will be 2 hours long and conducted by the Grammy-winning music director and primary conductor of the Chicagoland Pops Orchestra – Arnie Roth.
The producer of the event, Jason Michael Paul, had this to say about Koji Kondo attending the event, “To have Kondo-san participate in our premiere is truly the icing on the cake! I would have never imagined that when I was playing Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda as a kid that I would be doing a concert 20 years later with Kondo-san present to take part in a video game music concert featuring his music. Our event promises to be the most memorable concert ever.”
Tickets are still available for the show via Ticketmaster and the PLAY! website.
