Kojima’s next project is either MGS5 or an original game

A lot of fans have been crying out for a new Zone of the Enders game. Sadly, it seems Hideo Kojima won’t get work on it until after his next project is done.

 

 

 

 

A lot of fans have been crying out for a new Zone of the Enders game. Sadly, it seems Hideo Kojima won’t get work on it until after his next project is done.

 

That’s right, the “taboo” project Kojima was teasing isn’t a ZoE game. In an interview with Enterbrain CEO Hirokazu Hamamura, Kojima revealed that there are only two possibilities for his next game: either Metal Gear Solid 5 or an entirely new original IP.

 

“For the next game I make, it’s either MGS5 or an original game. I only have these two choices,” he said. “Regarding Anubis and so-forth, sorry — those will be pushed a bit into the future. I’m 47 this year, and I don’t know when something might happen (laughs).”

 

Apparently he had a totally different thing in mind while working on Peace Walker, but after E3 2010 he started to think about doing something else. Kojima promises, however, that his next game will be “a revolution” in terms of gameplay and will be made for consoles. Despite his indecision, development is already commencing and the game engine is already running.
