Konami strikes hard! Winning Eleven 2008 coming soon

Mag scan revealing Winning Eleven 2008 - Image 1Not too long after Winning Eleven 2007 hit the shelves, German gaming website Gamefront.de already reports that WE 2008 will be revealed soon.

The series is known to make improvements very slowly, making minor changes every installment (and sometimes backtracking). Some fans often complain, but it’s undeniable that Konami‘s football franchise delivers a great experience.

GameWave magazine lobbed a few details on their cover, and here’s the list:

  • Game will be released in multiple platforms (even on the PS3)
  • Improved defense
  • More realistic and changed dribbling animations
  • 1 on 1 tackles and offside traps will have better results (controversial calls)
  • Better online service, no lag
  • Full HD support with 18GB storage

Just like the rumors on WE: Pro Evolution Soccer 6, this latest instalment is said to be at its best on the PS3, according to PlayStation Universe. Retailer Game claims that Konami licensed the entire Premiere League and the German League for its iteration on Sony’s console. While still a rumor, it could be confirmed on June 23 when more info is out.

PSU’s educated guess says Pro Evolution Soccer 7 (European title) is likely to be released in October, while North America will get it (as Winning Eleven 2008) early 2008.
