Konami won’t be affected by Red Ant’s demise

The unfortunate collapse of Australian game distributor Red Ant put quite a few big game companies in a tight spot, but Konami has come through unscathed sales-wise.
According to an official statement from the company, the distribution deal they struck with Red Ant wasn’t due to start until this February. Since sales had yet to commence, the company remained unaffected, apart from having to find another distributor. Here’s a snippet from their official statement to Games Industry:
The agreement between Konami and Red Ant was due to commence from February 2009 onwards, with sales yet to start on the agreed titles. Konami offers its sincerest sympathies to those affected.
Konami didn’t reveal any possible distribution avenues it was reviewing.
