Last chance for a hands-on before launch: Sony Gamer’s Day in ‘Frisco

Argh, traffic on the Bridge! I don't want to be late for Gamer's Day!

We would love to leave our hearts in San Francisco this October 19 where and when, GamePro reports, the city and Sony shall host a “Gamer’s Day” with the shiny PS3 as the center of attraction. There’ll be roundtable discussions, executive presentations, and best of all, more hands-on gaming time with the next-gen console. About a half-a-day’s worth, we hear – why can’t it ever be Gamer’s Days? TGS 2006 is way too short for this sort of fun – and that’s already multi-day (How about a Gamer’s Month?).

Right now this is all we have from GamePro; the’re the only major game media outlet as of right now to release news about this (based on a Google News search). Once word of this gets about, we’re bound to see more details pop up, like what games will be available – and we’ll update this story to reflect them. In the meanwhile, we wonder if we could get bulk discount air fare for a round-trip ticket to San Francisco this October…

Or we could always wait for Launch Day on November 17. But that’s no fun – at least until we have the shine new PS3 in our own hands. You know, like those lucky PSM3 sonsofguns.
