Last.fm details for XBL Silver subscribers
We haven’t heard much about Last.fm on the XBL ever since it was officially announced by Microsoft at E3 2009. All we know is that it’s set to come out later this year, and that it will be free to Gold subscribers. But what of the other subscribers? Don’t worry, we’ve got the dibs on that one, too. XBL General Manager Christina DeRosa shared some more enlightening tidbit about the Last.fm service, saying that:
Silver users will be able to access what we’re considering a trial period of three hours a month, which comes with video advertising. Gold users will have unlimited ad-supported access so they can use it 24 hours a day. There will also be a premium offering on a subscription basis from Last.fm, that will be commercial free and will also have more sophisticated personalization features, like Loved Tracks.
As it is , you need to shell out US$ 3.00 (€3 EU or £3 GBP) a month to subscribe to Last.fm. If you want to get rid of those ads, that’ll be another US$ 36.00 a year, and to have full access to the service. It’s turning out to be quite a hefty invetsment, eh? Well you can always go for a Gold account on XBL — there it’s free. You’ll have to pay for Gold, but Last.fm is free.
