A new challenger has appeared to face off against our hopeful monster hunters in Capcom‘s Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G. This newest creature to rear it’s head is Voruganosu, the fearsome Lava Dragon from Monster Hunter Frontier. Taken from several screenshots on the Famitsu website, this larger-than-life monster makes finally its appearance on the handheld version of the game.

Hailing from the MMO hack n’ slash adventure game for the PC, this particular monster is just as awe-inspiring as the others we’ve previous seen. The visuals for Voruganosu seemed pretty much intact compared to the PC version of the game, a testament to the skills of the developers from Capcom cramming everything on to a tiny handheld.

Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G is set to be released this March in Japan and will be exclusive to Sony‘s PlayStation Portable. In the meantime, why not enjoy the rest of the screenshots of Voruganosu in action below. Enjoy!
