LED mods for the Wii: Pulse VU
This is sweet stuff. The guys over at SICKmods decided to make a nifty little chip to make your Nintendo Wii’s LED a lot flashier.
The Pulse VU basically makes your Wii’s pretty blue lights react to sounds being played in games. It also makes it pulse during periods of inactivity. The Pulse VU doesn’t affect the Wii’s functions, and gives way to the actual system when the Wii itself intends to use it. They’re also planning on releasing similar modifications for Microsoft‘s 360 and Sony’s PS3.
Now, since this is an open-source project, they’ll be releasing the schematics and source code of this modification soon, but they’re also selling the actual mod so interested gamers don’t have to build one from scratch. In the meantime, watch the video below to see what it can do. Enjoy!
