Legend of Zelda Turns 20
Twenty years from today, The Legend of Zelda made its way on the Japanese Famicom (known as NES in America). The Legend of Zelda is a series of video games created by the very talented Shigeru Miyamoto taking elements from action-adventure, puzzle and role-playing games. It once claimed the number one spot on G4’s “100 Greatest Games of All time” and has sold over 47 million units worldwide. Scheduled for this year is The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess , which will be coming to the Nintendo Gamecube, but it is rumored we’ll be seeing a version for Nintendo’s Revolution.
To help celebrate the occasion, Nintendo partnered with Japanese online retailer The King of Games that’s selling a number of collectibles that includes t-shirts and customizable “dots”. If you don’t live in Japan, then just keep your eyes on eBay as these will most certainly pop up there soon. QJ would like to wish The Legend of Zelda a very happy birthday and we’ll be looking forward to future games in the franchise.
