Liam Neeson’s son: pissed off at father’s Fallout 3 role

Can be just as good as Qui Gon Jin - Image 1It’s tough being an A-list Hollywood actor. Maybe more so if you’re known as a noble jedi in Star Wars. You have to toughen up to critics, friends and strangers alike. But it must be tougher when it’s your own son who doesn’t approve of your performance. Liam Neeson knows this very well first-hand, as his son allegedly did not like his role in Fallout 3 (PS3, Xbox 360, PC).

You’re on the wrong story, son.

The actor played the role of the main character’s father, and he supplied the voice for the said character. But as Neeson’s account of his son’s reaction to his role:

My kid hadn’t heard of it, and I eventually got him one, and he played it, and he said “Dad! It’s you! He was so pissed off. No escape! And I said, “Yes son. I’m still a Jedi.”

Well, I must admit that account left me quite baffled. Why did his son get pissed off? Was  his voice too nasal for the part? Or was he just missing the light saber from Star Wars?

Anyhow, Neeson did get nominated in the 2008 Spike Video Game Award in the “Big Name In The Game  – Male” category. Unfortunately for him, but probably a relief for his son, he lost to TV show 24’s Kiefer Sutherland for his Roebuck rendition in Call of Duty: World At War.
