For those who’ve broken the LittleBigPlanet street date, the very first patch is now available. LBP v1.01 is set to “rectify” the Qur’an references in one of the songs – which is strange because, if all it needed was a patch from Media Molecule, then why did Sony have to recall the discs?

Oh. Right. Here’s your answer: it’s because Sony said that “the right thing to do for quality and support of people with no on-line was to replace existing disks.” We’re assuming that this patch is being prepared to be built right onto the disc, to be fair to those people who can’t download the patch.

Here’s something interesting though: the actual “song” which caused the whole controversy is still included in the game after it being patch, and right now, sources state that the v1.01 patch has either “removed, censored, or looped around” the offensive lyrics.
