Localization causes delays, says Nintendo Australia
A couple of weeks ago, we shared with you the frustration gamers from the South Pacific region are feeling right now regarding the launch delays for some of the top-caliber Wii video game titles.
Well, it seems that Nintendo Australia has heard their pleas and provided the following explanation:
We apologize for the inconvenience that Nintendo fans are experiencing compared with people outside of their region. Localization and PAL conversion processes often make these delays unavoidable.
Although in some instances PAL versions have made it to the markets faster than the versions of other regions – for example Mario Strikers Charged Football and Battalion Wars.
We are currently making efforts to minimize the time needed for localizations, as we understand that the difference in worldwide release dates is frustrating to fans.
We know you guys expected something more from Nintendo but it’s good to know that the officials running the company are hearing your problems. Even though the issue will not be solved anytime soon, an honest-to-goodness explanation is what sometimes the fans need.
