Lock and load: Small Arms on Wednesday
Let the mayhem begin. We’ve been watching the development of Gastronaut Studios‘ Small Arms these past few months, we’ve liked what we’ve seen, and now it’s official: according to a press release, Small Arms will fire up Marketplace and Arcade on Wednesday, November 22, after 0800 GMT (1:00 a.m. PST), with 800 points required.
Everyone who’s seen it in action keeps saying “Super Smash Bros. with guns” – even Kotaku (I keep saying “Barrett if he decided to do Pilates”, though. FF-obsessed much?). Gunslingers revealed by Gastronaut include a cyborg tabby cat, an assassin truffle pig, and a mutant chimney sweep.
Kotaku says they’ve got dibs on the tabby cat. Okay, we say we dib the assassin swine. Sniper pigs teh rox FTW. 😛
In related news, the same press release also details the “Six Degrees of Small Arms” Achievement system. There’s only one way to unlock the Achievement: play with someone who already has it. And at game launch, the only ones who will have it are the devs of Gastronaut. You want the Achievement? Find them. Or someone who’s found them. Or someone who’s found them who’s found them who’s found them who’s found them who’s found them who’s found them – that’s six degrees (At least that’s how we understood the game page on Xbox Live Arcade).
