LOCKJAW v0.31

Puzzle fans may want to take a gander at this news bit, which announces homebrew developer Tepples‘ LOCKJAW game for the DS (and the GBA and the PC, too). What is it? It’s basically a Tetris-style game that gives players 20 different options to allow them to alter the game rules – you call the shots. As for the changelog:

  • Draws the score and next pieces before blitting the playfield in case a front-end draws the score or next pieces inside the playfield.
  • In Baboo!, speed curve Zero sets the level to the number of keypresses so far.
  • Blocks within a piece are drawn connected once they lock.
  • Baboo! no longer double-counts console buttons passed through the joypad reading code.
  • README: “color=image” clone-and-hack error fixed.
  • README: Explains black rectangle in upper left corner as an con for stop.
  • README: Explains controls on DS.

To install to PC: Click on the lj.exe file found in the bundle. Make you have the “alleg42.dll” file attached; otherwise, download off the sites suggested in the bundle’s README. To upload to your DS, copy-paste the “lj.nds” file in the bundle to your card. For Game Boy Advance users, copy-paste the “lj.gba” file. Kudos to Tepples for this simple but strangely addictive game! Now, if we can just get a certain J-Pop idol to play this, then it’ll be all cool…
