LOL: laughable DS game coming to the west
If you thought party games on the Nintendo DS are funny, Agetec and Route24 will put tears to your eyes with its LOL – a multiplayer DS game focused on making players laugh out loud. The objectives in this game may sound as weird as its title, but we’re definitely happy that something unique is reaching western shores. Read the full article for more details.
Games on the Nintendo DS made specifically for people who want to play with friends for a good laugh are far in between, but Chibi-Robo creator Kenichi Nishi was apparently confident enough that the DS is a good platform to make people laugh, and single-handedly founded Route24 to develop LOL (yes, it means “laugh out loud”). Fortunately for us, the title also known as Archime DS will ship to the west thanks to Agetec.
For those who haven’t heard of it before, LOL is a multiplayer game unlike no other. The mechanics sound simple enough – one person writes a question or a challenge using the Stylus, then another tries to answer or comply. To play, you can write, draw, or do “whatever comes to mind.”
Agetec producer Hiro Fukuoka couldn’t say it any better:
As long as you are a fun-loving person with a little bit of an imagination, there should be no reason you find LOL to be anything less than a great time with your friends. It maximizes your creative abilities and puts a fun twist to it.
