London MCM Expo attempting to set world cosplay record
The London Movie Comic Media Expo isn’t known for its gaming section, with much of its attendees preferring other forms of entertainment. But all that’s gonna change this year, or improve at the very least, because apart from the support of some of today’s A-list publishers, the London MCM Expo is attempting to set the World Record for “largest number of people in costume for a video game.”

Not just any king of cosplay, ladies and gents, only gaming cosplay is gonna cut it, and that doesn’t include the ones from movie-to-game transitions. Costumes have to have a real gaming origin. As it is, they’ve already got enough registrations to beat the current record, but they still want a bigger win margin so if you feel like dressing up and meeting a hundred Tifas under one roof, go on and register.
If you’re just in it for the games, then you’d be glad to know that Koei, Capom, Ubisoft, Rising Star Games, Eidos, Ankama, and Atari will all be supporting Games Village @ Expo. Koei’s gonna have a Dynasty Warriors-fest, featuring Empires and Strikeforce. For Capcom, it’s gonna be Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, and people who visit their booth will get an exclusive shirt.
The London MCM Expo will be on May 23rd and the 24th, so start prepping your E. Honda costume, aka your bathroom towel, and head over to the ExCel center.
