Lord Of The Rings Online – Welcome To Bamfurlong
Fans of Tolkien‘s trilogy may remember a brief episode in which Frodo, Sam, Pippin and Merry stayed at the home of a certain farmer in Eastfarthing whose land they had raided for mushrooms as young hobbit delinquents. (Mushrooms, as you may recall, are a delicacy hobbits find irresistible.)
Farmer Maggot was – and is – a terror to young mushroom thieves, but can be a wise adviser and generous host. He and his farm are now part of the virtual world of Lord Of The Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar. Players will have opportunities to stop by this place as they pass though Bamfurlong and benefit from his wisdom and deep knowledge of the surrounding lands – but watch out! He’s not fond of idle trespassers, especially mushroom thieves! He keeps three large dogs whose names speak for themselves – Fang, Grip, and Wolf. They also guard his land against strange horsemen in dark cloaks who are seen passing by the area from time to time.
LoTRO:SoA is published by Turbine, Inc. The beta program is scheduled to begin sometime this summer.
