LUABlackjack v1.0 (not LUA Blackjack v1.0)
This isn’t LuNcHb0x’s LUA Blackjack v1.0 which we featured back in 2005. This is LUABlackjack (without a space) v1.0, a debut Lua coding effort from Jigga05 of the DCEmu forums. And the lack of a space isn’t the only difference between these two blackjack titles.
Unlike LUA Blackjack, this LUABlackjack doesn’t play a full spread of three-hits-or-bust like real-world blackjack. Rather, both dealer and player are limited to making only one hit. The dealer makes the first move, and if he doesn’t bust or blackjack on the hit, you have one hit and one chance to beat him. Also, you only get to play clubs. Then again, you’re not counting suits in blackjack, anyway. Save that for Hold’em.
Sometimes, there is a bit of loading time between hands, sometimes there’s none. In addition, there is a slight bug when the red message text that says “You win” or “You lose,” etc., sometimes doesn’t refresh between hands, which causes them to stack on top of one another. Beyond those points, however, it is still playable.
As for future versions, once Jigga05 cleans up the bugs he learns about, he plans to include multiplayer, hopefully through ad-hoc. And perhaps a LUAPoker.
Controls:
- Cross = deals new hand
- Square = hit present hand
- Select = display creator and date
- Start = exits to luaplayer
