Lumines II website launches Phase II

Lumines II

And so the website of Lumines II has entered its second phase. Here, chrysalis will be formed around its body to protect itself during its metamorphosis. But more than this update, what’s making even more noise is the newly-opened music hub, where you can actually view the all-star licensed music soundtrack available. What’s really interesting about this game in general is that it aims to “effectively turn your PSP into an interactive iPod, combining music and gaming to create a portable club experience”.

Now, the story behind the development of this concept is just as interesting. Tetsuya Mizuguchi shares that it was his first rave party experience in Zurich back in 1994 which actually inspired him to create something like this. According to him, “5,000 were all moving together, not dancing as separate entities, and the energy was amazing.” This experience propelled him to recreate that feeling of unified rhythm in clubs onto his games. And why not? It really does give a whole new meaning to interactive gaming.

So, anyway, over at the site, you can check out previews of videos from artists like the Black Eyed Peas (Pump It), Hoobastank (Born to Lead), Gwen Stefani (Hollaback Girl), Beck (Black Tambourine), Fatboy Slim (Gangster Trippin), The Go! Team (Bottle Rocket), Chemical Brothers (Star Rocket), and Missy Elliot (Lose Control).

With all new-streaming video, more than 60 stylish skins, 100 music tracks, wireless 2-player gameplay, and new 3D backgrounds, this game’s sure to get you grooving with your PSP.
